As a business that creates stunning architectural photographs, Yellowball had to create a website that was not only functional but also visually appealing. Bagshaw & Hardy trusted Yellowball with a full brand refresh, website design and client management system as part of the site. Needless to say, we were licking our lips at the chance to create all three, especially considering the fantastic content at our disposal!
Bagshaw & Hardy came to Yellowball with an outdated brand and websites as well as a back end system which was slow and difficult to manage. The brief was to create a refreshed brand and website that showcased the quality of their imagery with a back clientelle system that was easy to use and intuitive.
The brand needed to avoid using more generic or stereotypical brandmarks such as a lens or a camera yet still remain relevant. In addition to this the website could not rely solely on the imagery, the website needed to have interesting design aspect whilst allowing users to navigate through the site with ease.
What we did
Yellowball's creative design team got to work on the brand straight away. Settling on a birch leaf we believed that this represented not only the stability of the product that was being photographed but also captured many of the angles and shapes present in architecture.
The website was not as simple as it might appear. Great imagery can become tiresome if not utilised correctly. Exploring the use of angled lines and parallax scrolling we were able to show the images in a dimension that blended traditional methods with more modern design trends.
The end result was a brand that differentiated itself from the more stereotypical brandmarks already present in the market, offering a diverse range of applications for Bagshaw & Hardy. The website design was an instant hit, receiving positive feedback from both clients and partners.
The backend system was not without its teething issues but once fully tested now provides a platform that has substantially increased functionality compared with widely used market specific platforms. This has allowed Bagshaw & Hardy's clients to access high quality imagery through their profile log ins and ease of use for the internal team at Bagshaw & Hardy.
