The Freight Transport Association is one of the UK’s largest trade associations, with over 14,500 members. Yellowball are proud to have designed, developed and launched the new mini-site for the release of VisionFTA, the all-new cloud platform set to be home to all of FTA’s customer software solutions. The site also features a suite of feature tour videos, edited, cut and scripted by Yellowball.

More recently, we carried out a successful rebrand for the FTA and produced comprehensive brand guidelines to accompany the new look. We continue to work closely with the FTA to create promotional collateral, exhibition stands, E-Shot campaigns and advertorials, as well as hosting regular strategy and consultancy sessions.

  • The Brief

    FTA were seeking to refresh and evolve their existing brand, to help assist in the delivery of a range of key business objectives, including retaining their position market leaders and better conveying the role and purpose of the organisation. The organisation has developed significantly over the last 40 years and has expanded into other areas of the industry, although their brand was not expressing these ongoing developments. 

    Other key elements of the brief were to create a suite of sub brands that link to a 'one-team' philosophy, to demonstrate internally and externally that FTA are "fresher, faster, braver and stronger", that they adapt to changing trends and understand the digital landscape and also to retain the instant brand recognition and heritage of the brand.

  • The Process

    In an initial brand workshop, we conducted a range of one-to-one discovery sessions, explored the history of the existing FTA brand, market analysis and business objectives. Following this, we conducted wide and deep market research and sought inspiration from across a range of sectors and organisations. This resulted in a range of concepts being created and presented by different members of the Yellowball creative team, one of which was selected, refined and applied across multiple mediums and platforms.

The Outcome

The refreshed and evolved FTA logo has now been deployed across a range of applications throughout the FTA. We also created a detailed set of brand guidelines, to ensure unified consistency across all stakeholders' use of the brand.
