Overview

Crafting an immersive, premium experience for a globally recognised whisky brand.

Tomatin is a producer of world-class single malt Scotch whiskies, exported to over 60 countries and recognised for quality, heritage, and craftsmanship. Their existing website didn’t reflect this stature – visually underwhelming, structurally clunky, and limited in functionality.

Yellowball was commissioned to deliver a complete digital overhaul. The new site needed to do more than sell whisky – it had to capture the brand’s Highland warmth, showcase the full product range, support e-commerce and storytelling, and offer seamless access to global customers, distributors, and brand partners.

The Challenge

Tomatin’s previous site didn’t reflect the quality of the product or the strength of the brand.

Navigation was difficult, content was siloed, and e-commerce was limited. For a distillery with global reach and premium positioning, the online experience needed to instil trust, communicate value, and increase conversions across multiple audiences.

We were tasked with delivering a flagship website that would elevate brand perception, support growing product lines, and make it easy for visitors to shop, discover, and connect – all while retaining the warmth and legacy that defines Tomatin.

What We Did

A full redesign and development of Tomatin’s digital presence.

We designed and built a fully bespoke WordPress website, inspired by Tomatin’s Golden Hour brand aesthetic – warm, elegant, and image-led. Every template was tailored to balance visual storytelling with conversion-led functionality. From the core whisky pages and prestige product flows to the knowledge base, blog and experiences, the new platform caters to a wide range of user types – from casual browsers to collectors and stockists.

Alongside brand storytelling and product showcasing, we implemented e-commerce functionality, a secure distributor login area, seasonal promotional tools, and a modular CMS framework that empowers the Tomatin team to make updates with ease.

The new website repositions Tomatin as a premium, confident brand with a modern digital footprint. From casual whisky fans to global distributors, every visitor is guided through a clear, engaging journey. Product ranges are brought to life through lifestyle imagery and interactive modules, while e-commerce flows are streamlined to drive direct sales.

Critically, the platform is built for longevity – flexible, easy to manage, and ready to support seasonal promotions, future growth, and centralised brand asset delivery.
