Campaign Brief

Butternut Box came to Yellowball just as their business was starting to boom. With a solid customer base already, Yellowball were brought on to work alongside their other marketing channels to increase the number of organic inbound customers arriving and converting on the site.

Following our initial market and competitor research, it was clear that a full audit of the targeting strategy was required for us to effectively attract and grow Butternut Box’s target audience. Gaining a clear understanding of Butternut’s audience and the company’s USPs was critical in creating a successful content marketing campaign.

Our primary goal for the campaign was to grow Butternut’s organic marketing efforts in line with their performance in alternate channels. As a company who already had a strong output in other areas of marketing, Butternut looked to search engine optimisation to expand their conversion beyond paid channels.

New Subscriptions & Customer Retention

Through our research it was clear that a detailed technical audit and implementation would produce some initial results. By optimising the site in line with our target audience we were able to create a foundation upon which content and link building could be more effective.

Our content strategy was two-fold. We wanted to grow Butternut Box’s authority and reach within the market, attracting new customers. In addition, we also had an eye on their current customer base and retention rates. Through a value-add strategy we were able to achieve both through our content strategy and secure some high profile links on industry leading sites.

In terms of market visibility we achieved a 450% increase in total ranking keywords and a 1,200% increase in the amount of keywords on page 1 over a two year period. All of this translated to a 181% increase in organic traffic to the site, significantly increased brand recognition and a growing customer base!
